⚠️Requirementsfor Riding
To ride an electric scooter, you must have a Japanese driver's license OR meet the requirements of Pattern A or B below:
■ Pattern A: International Driving Permit (IDP)
[Required Items]
・IDP (Under the 1949 Geneva Convention)
・Original home country driver's license (No copies or photos)
・Original Passport
[Necessary Conditions]
・Must have a valid stamp in the "Category A (Motorcycles)" section on your IDP.
■ Pattern B: Foreign License + Japanese Translation
[Required Items]
・Original driver's license from the 8 designated countries (No copies or photos)
・Official Japanese translation of the license
・Original Passport
[Necessary Conditions]
・The license must be issued in one of the 8 designated countries.
・Must be within 1 year of landing in Japan (*The 3-month rule applies).
